The 6th generation was released in the fall of 2021 and had a completely redesigned design similar to the iPad Pro. According to ShrimpApplePro, we can expect the iPad mini 7th generation this year, but it won’t be a major update.

It is likely that Apple will unveil the iPad mini 7th generation later this year. That’s the claim of ShrimpApplePro on X, an account that has previously leaked accurate information about unreleased Apple devices.
It would be a logical step for Apple to provide the smallest iPad with some improvements but don’t expect too much innovation.
Faster chip
The current iPad mini 6th generation uses the Apple A15 Bionic chip with a 6-core CPU. This powerful processor ensures fast and smooth performance, allowing you to multitask, play games, and use apps effortlessly.
The iPad mini 7th generation will undoubtedly have a faster chip, possibly the A17 processor, which will be announced later this year together with the iPhone 15 series or an M1 chip.
Improved camera
It is likely that Apple will provide the iPad with an improved camera, both on the front and back. Although taking photos with an iPad is not always convenient, the camera is usually used for augmented reality.
Unchanged design
The design of the iPad mini has changed dramatically in 2021 and is similar to current iPad models. This means sleeker bezels, no unnecessary buttons, and straight sides.

The iPad mini 7th generation is expected in the fall of 2023. The current generation has a starting price of €659 for 64 GB with WiFi only. Whether Apple will increase the price and/or the storage is currently unknown.
